Script

I wrote my first script draft in order to give me an idea of what I want my characters to say and what I want their personality to be like. The first script draft gives me a rough idea of how smooth scenes will run, if I need any scenes to fill time periods (such as a black screen) and what transitions from scene to scene I need to use.  By doing this my characters wont have to improvise but as I plan my film, this script draft will be slightly changed and adapted if I think of anything else I want my characters to say or do. 

1 EXT school – Day 

Myra, Rose and Bonnie are walking home from school  

ROSE 

Can’t wait for tonight girls, I’m so excited

BONNIE 

Me too 

MYRA

Its gonna be so much fun

2 EXT near a gate – Day 

Twisty is stood leaning against a fence, his head turns and his gaze follows the girls as they walk past him. The girl’s conversation carries on and turns into laughter. 

3 INT bathroom – Day 

Girls are cramped into the bathroom trying to get ready. In the background there is music on and the girls are singing to the song.  

Song: 

Screen fades to black, the music gets quieter and then the sound of a car driving is heard, then 3 car doors shutting. 

4 INT house – Day 

Girls enter the house, they are greeted with the ticket man (Fred) and one of the actors who is their tour guide (pogo) 

FRED 

Welcome ladies, 3 tickets for the fright of your lives? 

MYRA 

Ooooh, yes please, here girls my mum gave me money to pay for us all

POGO 

Come on in to the first room, my names Pogo and I’m gonna to try and make this night as scary as I can.  

5 INT house – Day 

Myra, Rose, Bonnie are being shown into the first room by Pogo, they are going to be greeted by Spine Snapper Sophie when she walks through the shot in a backbend and scares the girls. 

 

SPINE SNAPPER SOPHIE

Welcome girls to my circus tent, there’s only me left, everyone else left 70 years ago (cackles hysterically) 

MYRA, ROSE, BONNIE 

Scream

BONNIE (grabs hold of Myra and Rose’s arms) 

That scared me!

6 INT house – Day 

Twisty (a non-cast member, sneaks into a separate room within the house dressed as a clown, he waves at Rose, signalling her to follow him into the room. 

TWISTY 

(mouths as he waves) Follow me 

7 INT house – Day 

Rose follows Twisty into the room; a pool of blood is shown on the floor with Roses earring placed within the centre. 

ROSE 

Oooo, wonder what’s in here 

Screams (thud)

8 INT house – Day 

Bonnie and Myra notice Rose has gone, they think that she is trailing behind but after turning around they find she is nowhere to be found

BONNIE 

Wait, Myra, where is Rose

MYRA 

She is probably just trailing behind, she will be somewhere

POGO

Don’t worry, she will catch up, we’ve not got long left now girls 

BONNIE (turns around) 

She’s not there Myra, I’m worried, I don’t like this

SPINE SNAPPER SOPHIE 

She might have gone into another room, we can go look after in hopes she catches up 

 

BONNIE 

I’m going to go and look for her

9 INT house – Day 

Bonnie starts walking away from the group and enters the first room she suspects Rose will have gone in by accident. After Bonnie has entered the room, the screen cuts the black for a second and a loud scream can be heard

BONNIE

(Screams) Guys, you’re gonna wanna see this

10 INT house – Day 

Twisty runs towards Bonnie, the camera flips between Bonnie and Twisty. T > B > T > B. 

(Silence) 

BONNIE 

(screams as screen darkens, then a thud is heard) 

11 INT house – Day 

Myra, Pogo and Spine Snapper Sophie run towards the direction they heard the thud come from, when they get there, the burst the door open in the room to find a pool of Roses blood with her earring in it and Bonnies body on the floor laid in a pool of blood. Twisty is still in the room, hiding from the three next victims. The trio begin to frantically investigate/inspect the room. 

MYRA 

Jeepers creepers, this kinda stuff only happens in the movies!

POGO

 (squats down and puts his finger in the blood) This hasn’t been here long, its still warm, its fresh, the killer is still on the loose

12 INT house – Day 

Spine Snapper Sophie moves towards the door and slowly turns the lock, trapping Myra and Pogo inside with Twisty and herself. She tries to be quiet and mask the sound with Myra’s frantic panicking but the room falls silent when the lock turns. 

MYRA (looks at Pogo) 

(Stutters) Wh wh what’s going?

Pogo looks at Spine Snapper Sophie

SPINE SNAPPER SOPHIE 

(Hysterically cackles) You’re not going to like this 

TWISTY 

 

13 INT house – Day 

Twisty appears from the shadows within the room and begins to run towards Myra and Pogo (camera) with a knife in his hand. The screen turns to black, a scream is heard, then silence.
