Evie Unit 4

I produced a treatment for my short film to present the idea of the story before I drafted my first script. I did this by creating a document that explained character personalities and an in depth explanation of the plot. By doing this I have a guide of character personalities and how they fit into the short film. This will help to quicken up the process of producing my short film later down the line as I will be more organised and also the actors will have a basic guide on how important their character is and how I want them to act.   

I wrote my first script draft in order to give me an idea of what I want my characters to say and what I want their personality to be like. The first script draft gives me a rough idea of how smooth scenes will run, if I need any scenes to fill time periods (such as a black screen) and what transitions from scene to scene I need to use.  By doing this my characters wont have to improvise but as I plan my film, this script draft will be slightly changed and adapted if I think of anything else I want my characters to say or do.  1 EXT school – Day   Myra, Rose and Bonnie are walking home from school   ROSE  Can’t wait for tonight girls, I’m so excited BONNIE  Me too  MYRA Its gonna be so much fun 2 EXT near a gate – Day  Twisty is stood leaning against a fence, his head turns and his gaze follows the girls as they walk past him.  I completed this pre-production activity in order to be able to advertise and explain my short film concept to the production companies. I created a document that had important features of my film such as the title, a logline, basic plot summary, my research and the unique selling point. By doing this, I have allowed myself to have a persuasive document ready for future pitches of my short film.  House of Fun Pitch  Three girls prepare for the most thrilling night as they enter a fun house, things take a turn for the worst and their lives are changed forever.   House of fun is a short film production consisting of around 3-5 minutes long, this will be aimed at 15-30 years old of any gender as my target audience. I think this will be my key target audience as this film would not be appropriate for younger audiences due to some graphic and bloody scenes and characters being ‘odd and potentially scary.’ In my opinion this wouldn’t appeal to the majority of the older au...
